Built for Teachers. Grounded in Pedagogy.

EasyGraderLab was built by the EasyGraderLab team with one singular mission: to eliminate tedious grading arithmetic, prevent mathematical fatigue, and help teachers spend more time mentoring and guiding students.

Who We Are & Our Mission

We are the EasyGraderLab teamโ€”a dedicated group of former educators and software technologists. We believe assessment feedback should be immediate, completely free, and strictly private. When educators spend hours manually calculating fractions on 30+ quizzes or rotating cardboard slide wheels, mental fatigue often causes rounding errors and delays student feedback. Our mission is to provide intuitive, lightning-fast classroom calculators that run directly in your browser.

Grading Calculation Methodology

To maintain fairness and transparency across classrooms, all calculation engines on EasyGraderLab operate on verified academic arithmetic:

Core Formula

Grade % = ((Total Questions - Wrong Answers) / Total Questions) ร— 100

Standard Half-Up Rounding Explained

Our calculators apply standard half-up rounding to all percentages. Under this mathematical rule, any fractional score with a decimal portion equal to or greater than .5 rounds up to the nearest integer (for instance, 89.5% rounds up to 90.0%, earning an A-), whereas values below .5 round down. This standard prevents arbitrary rounding discrepancies.

Supported Grading Scales

EasyGraderLab provides three built-in scale models:

  • Standard US Plus/Minus: A+ (97+), A (93โ€“96), A- (90โ€“92), B+ (87โ€“89), B (83โ€“86), B- (80โ€“82), C+ (77โ€“79), C (73โ€“76), C- (70โ€“72), D+ (67โ€“69), D (63โ€“66), D- (60โ€“62), F (<60).
  • Traditional 10-Point Scale: A (90โ€“100), B (80โ€“89), C (70โ€“79), D (60โ€“69), F (<60).
  • Pass / Fail Scale: Pass (70.0% and above), Fail (below 70.0%).

Important Institutional Policy Note: Grading policies, cutoff thresholds, and weighting rules vary by district, university, and syllabus. We always advise educators and students to verify calculations against their school's official grading handbook.

Educator Advisory & Review Standards

All grading tools and scale reference guides published on EasyGraderLab are developed in alignment with assessment guidance from the U.S. Department of Education and national benchmarks from the NCES.
